    A Bit About Me

A loving Father of 6 and step-dad to four more. Grandfather of many. I have spent the last couple decades residing in Otaki, growing community roots that have made me qualified to tell your stories, our stories.

Currently I am Freelance Journalist who consistently  has pieces published in the Otaki Mail, Wainuiomata News and the Independent Herald. As well as having a deep-rooted history in the industry.

Starting at The Evening Post as a cadet reporter, most of my working life has been as
a writer and editor. I trained as a journalist at Wellington Polytechnic, before the
journalism training was taken over by Massey University. As well as reporting for
The Evening Post, I also worked as a reporter on another daily, The Marlborough
Express. From sport to courts, from police action to fires, from education to
commerce, I have covered all the areas of public interest that daily newspapers
    present to their readers.
I have edited five newspapers: The Wairoa Star (published three times a week), The
Picton Paper and City Voice (published weekly), and The Petone Herald and The
Northern Courier (published fortnightly). I also edited a number of magazines,
including the New Zealand Law Society’s journal, LawTalk, where I worked for more
    than 10 years.
In one role, I wrote, designed and published a book which is, in fact, an unheralded
success story of New Zealand publishing. Called New Directions – A Guide to
Managing Redundancy, this book has sold more than 60,000 copies. This is one of
two books I have edited and published.

As stated earlier I currently write articles for the ÅŒtaki Mail, Wainuiomata News, The Independent Herald and also for a local lawyer.

I enjoy writing about anything, as things are just so interesting.
